Lowell Darling Campaign for Governor of California, 2010

Until and unless the 2/3 majority rule on state budget issues is reduced to a more simple (and democratic) majority, it makes no difference who is Governor of California. This is why I am running for Governor in 2010.

As a candidate during the election in which Proposition 13 passed, I feel responsible for California’s current economic situation.

In 1977 Proposition 13 appeared to me as whacky as my plan to put Reverend Ike in charge of the state budget and replace taxes with incredible good luck. Unfortunately I have been proved correct.

In 2010 I have decided to run for Governor one more time. This time I make only one promise: to do nothing as Governor until the Assembly finds a way to void the 2/3 majority rule.

I will discuss my personal opinions on any matter regarding the state of the State, but I promise to do nothing until the 2/3 majority is reduced to a functional majority.
